On this day in history in:
1941
Nazi Germany's siege of Leningrad began on September 8, 1941, and lasted 900 days. Some citizens were forced to subsist on bread made from sawdust while others worked through the winter in makeshift military factories without heat. Although many perished from starvation, bombings, and the cold, the city's determined resistance held the German troops at bay and helped turn the tide of World War II. When the siege finally ended in January of 1944, Leningrad's population had been reduced from 2,500,000 million people to 600,000.

Guild Wars Free Preview Weekend Is Upon Us!

Starting at 12:01am this evening, the GW Factions Chapter 2 preview event will begin!!
Check out the website for information about signing up, playing and what will be involved in the preview weekend. There's also a wicked cinematic trailer now avaliable as well. Just when you think a cinematic trailer can't be topped, you have to check this out even, if you're not a fan of the game!
The front page has all the info right on it, with appropriate buttons and links for all the info you need!

GUILD WARS ~ Still Kicking!!

Yeah, that's right. What's it been now? A year since the Beta? And this game is still... STILL leaving no ass unkicked. And it continues to get better with frequent updates and rock solid stability. And! We've brought in some new friendly faces to help round out the Guild! Stop by the forums to say hello to some of our new Guildies. They are, if nothing else, quite smurfy.
We've even gotten our own Guild Hall!! Yes, readers... we've arrived. It's rather nice, too. There's an herb garden, sun room for crumpets, sauna bath, and no end to the (sometimes naked) frolicking. Come frollick, won't you? >8)

Yeah, that's right. Nary an ass left unkicked. Well, sort of. I mean, it's fun... damn fun. And addicting. Which sucks, if you're limited on time and/or sleep to begin with. As am I. And, you won't get your twitch fixed like you would with an FPS, so if that's what you're after, shop elsewhere. But... Lots of Shredders are playing it (all the sexy ones at least), and that's all that really matters. More Shredders would be nice, but BF2 is leeching them off. Regardless! The GW Forum on this site is finally beginning to take a little traffic with some tips, useful links, et cetera dot dot dot So, stop by and I'll show you my 12-27 Dingle Wand Of Smacktitude... perhaps.
You need to try it. You really do. Now go sell some services to a stranger at the bus stop for $50 and then buy the damn game already.
